Getting Started  "Welcome to the Grid, Program"
  •
  • Burst: bind <key> burst

  • Burst will give you an increased jump and is best used for escaping a shot or slamming a servex scoring disc into the basket. <see scoring> Burst is enabled by looking up and pressing the key. It can also be angled upwards but not horizontal. If there is height burst can be used to quickly get to the ground.
  • The red arrow in the icon field:   wpe1.jpg (842 bytes)     indicates burst is ready for use:
  • Derezzers: bind <key> woop

  • Derezzers are specialized weapons that are added to your aresnal by picking up a Derezz Cube.

Disx Physix
  •
  • The disx is the 'weapon' of choice for programs <players>. The attack button can be tapped for a slow disc or held down for approxiamtely 5 seconds (or until the sound whirs) to fire a very fast disc <referred to as super disx>.
  • Speed indication is shown on the disx with an energy bar.
  • wpe2.jpg (787 bytes)wpe3.jpg (806 bytes)wpe4.jpg (819 bytes)wpe5.jpg (828 bytes)
  • When the disx is in your inventory it appears as   :wpe6.jpg (778 bytes)
  • When it is in flight this icon is not diplayed.
  • The disx when thrown against a shielded opponent will send the opponent flying. The stronger the charge the further they will fly.
  • If a disx hits a shielded opponent it will spark with a green spark and degrade the shield point by one then returns to the owner.
  • The disx ricochet until it returns to your possession. Try different techniques until you find one to your liking.
  • An opponent can be derezzed with a returning disc. So watch where you are standing.

  • A fully charged disx can be used to scout out dark areas.
  • Can a disx be lost? Yes and no. If a disx is say, fired in a room and the program <player> leaves via teleporter the disx is trapped ricocheting until the program <player> has been derezzed.
  • If a disx is fired and the program <player> is not in a clear line of site of the disx then it will ricochet until the program is in range or in LOS <line of sight> Some interesting tricks can be done with this.

Team Play and Scoring

pr0ndi5.jpg (18561 bytes)

The servex is the team scoring disx.  The Servex returner is  usually placed in the center of the map.   The servex glows blue when it is brought into play and glows red when possession is lost and it drops to the ground.

While in inventory it appears as this icon:  wpe7.jpg (808 bytes)

If you are in possession of the servex others will know by the trail of sparkles that you emit.

!!! If your disx is not in inventory and you get the servex you will not be able to score until your disx has returned. !!!

The servex will eventually respawn should it be lost during gameplay.

The command to join a team or enter into gameplay   is join <color> color being red, blue, yellow or green.  You can change the name of your team with the command team <newname>.  The first person to join a team is the leader.   If the leader should leave use the command, leader, to take control of the leader position.  Once the name of the team has been renamed you must join as the new name of the team i.e., join <boner>

You can change teams as long as you are not in possession of the servex.

Your Team score, including your personal goals, appears in the top right hand corner of the screen

Your personal scores appear when Tab is hit.

Scores are made by hitting an opponent with the disx or the servex. You will gain one personal point for terminating an opponent.

Team Scores are based on sending the servex disx (glowing disc that drops from the 'basket') to the 'basket' usually placed in the center of the map.

pr0ndi7.jpg (3387 bytes)

*** Some goals on the new maps are located within your base.   Scout the map as an observer before joining.  Some also require that u press a button to open your goal. ***

Every score is an auto +10 team and +2 personal

If the Servex is slammed 'up close scoring' the player receives 4 personal points and the team recieves 14.

For a long distance shot player receives 3 personal points and the team gets 12 points.

When the servex disx hits the basket dead center a sound will go off indicating that you scored.

If a player is killed while in posession of the servex the servex drops to the ground until picked up.  The servex will glow red when on the ground.

The servex can be passed from one teamate to the other by shooting it at the teammate you wish to pass it to.

Shields and Derezz Cubes:

Shield:

A shield can be picked up as a separate item or found within Derezz Cubes.

The shield appears as this within the game:

wpe8.jpg (2730 bytes)

Your shield meter appears as this icon:     wpe9.jpg (928 bytes)        This indicates that you are shielded.

If you are without shielding go to the nearest shield or derezz cube and recharge.

The shield protects you from one disc hit. If you are hit with a disc thereafter you will be terminated and a score of one goes to the owner.

With a well placed ricochet shot a shield can be knocked out and the player can be terminated in one fell swoop.

Derezz Cube: There are 6 items that can be found randomly generated within a Derezz Cube; 5 Derrezzer Attachments and the Shield. If a derezzer hits a shielded opponent it will first degrade the shield.

wpe11.jpg (26827 bytes)

  • This is the Derezzer      wpeA.jpg (800 bytes)          A straight shot.
  • The Homing Derezzer   wpeB.jpg (810 bytes)        Homes in on target.
  • The Cluster Derezzer     wpeC.jpg (826 bytes)         Best used as a bomb.
  • The Laser Derezzer        wpeD.jpg (839 bytes)         A burst of a strong beam of light.
  • The #pr0nmine                wpeE.jpg (847 bytes)         A mine.

When A Derezz box is picked up it will allocate the randomly generated Derezzer to your inventory. If the player has a derezzer in the active inventory another Derezz box cannot be picked up until the derezzer has been fired. There are shields in the derezz boxes as well as the weapons.

If a derezzer is active in inventory a shield can only be picked up if it is the seperate shield not in the derezz box

Server Commands

The options such as burst and other burst time are controlled by the server.    Burst changes the game drastically. Altering the time it takes to regenerate burst makes for a more challenging game. However too long my detract from play.  Using the nobox command will remove the Derezz Cubes from gameplay. Without the Cubes the game reverts to the ver 1.0 gamestyle with only the disxs. These are the commands:

sv btime <default sv btime is 2 st time in seconds>

sv bpower <default sv bpower is 600

sv_nobox <default is boxes on>

Notes:

Version 1.1 Update:

- 5 new weapons

- New server options:

1) Soft #pr0ndisx or Hard #pr0ndisx <no Derezzer items or Derezzer item activated.>

- Added Hard #pr0ndisx mode:

Derezzers: #pr0nmine,Derezzer, homing Derezzer,Cluster Derezzer,Laser Derezzer

Derezzers do have splash damage where appropriate.

- Team Specific Goals

- Updated Icons, other artwork.

- added pron blockers. In some maps these appear. They basically shut down sections of the grid if a team is not in play. i.e., There are no programs on team green. Their section of the grid is not active or accessible to other teams until someone joins that team.
