All About Runes
If you are new to Coliseum2 this page will help you get familiar with the Runes. It describes what the runes are, how to use them, and how to set up the Runes on your server (should you be a server admin). Use the links below to jump to the various sections on other pages for other rune related topics.
Player "Drop Rune" Set Up Shows screen grabs of the set up screens binding a key to drop a Rune.
Server Rune Configuration Describes the variables used for configuring runes on servers.
There are 5 different Runes in Coliseum2. The Runes can be thought of as instant power-ups that do not have a time limit (like the haste, flight, or quad damage power-ups in standard Q3). To pick up a Rune all you have to do is run over it. It is instantly activated as soon as you pick it up. You can only have one Rune at a time. The Rune will stay with you until you die or you drop it. You can drop the Runes at anytime by binding a key to do so. That is covered in the User Interface/Client Enhancements section. But first lets take a look at the 5 Runes and see what they do:

![]() This is a screen grab of a player that has the red Strength Rune. It is circled in red at the lower right hand side of the HUD. This is how it appears in single player. In multi-player it shows up just to the left of the lag-o-meter if it is on. Note: the red circles in the above shots are just to help you see where the icon is. The red circle does not show up in the game. |
