While various forms of launchers exist, the method of delivery for standard grenades has not changed in millenia of research. Of course, through genetic alteration and powered armor, the strength of a unit's arm is considerably more than that of a normal human, producing a range comparable to many self-propelled weapons. The arcing trajectory of a grenade offers a variety of strategic advantages not gained by direct attacking weapons. They can be thrown over obstacles, around corners, out windows, and dropped as makeshift, short-fuse mines. Unfortunately their slow speed means they can be dodged easily. |
