Deathmatch
 

Setting up a Deathmatch Game
Creating a SOG Deathmatch game goes the same way as a normal deathmatch game. Simply type "set deathmatch 1" at the console, or load "SOG DM" batch file in your SOGALPHA directory.

The Maps
This release of SOG contains seven brand new deathmatch maps, named SOGDM1 through SOGDM7. These maps have a wide variety of settings: military bases, ancient castles, snowy mountains, etc. Of course, it's also possible to play SOG on existing maps, for example Q2DM1.

The SOGFlags
Apart from the normal deathmatch flags, there are also SOG flags, which introduce new types of gameplay.

2 - SOG_USE_KEY
4 - SOG_FULLYLOADED
16 - SOG_IDG2_ONLY
512 - SOG_IDG1_ONLY
For example, if you want a deathmatch server with the SOG_IDG2_ONLY-flag activated, type at the console "set sogflags 16".

Description of the flags :
SOG_USE_KEY : if this is activated, players playing as Blaze or Flynn will have to press a key to open a door or press a button (like the use-key in DOOM or Half Life). This is standard the "L"-key, but you can also bind this function to a different key. The function to bind is "+soguse".

SOG_FULLYLOADED : if this is activated, players will start with a full load of weapons and armor.

SOG_IDG2_ONLY : if this is activated, all weapons and items in the map are from the Flynn-class and every player is forced to play as Flynn.

SOG_IDG1_ONLY : if this is activated, all weapons and items in the map are from the Blaze-class and every player is forced to play as Blaze.

Running A Dedicated Server
Basically, if you are wondering about this, you probably already know how to run a dedicated server.  The file "dmmaps.lst" is your in-game maplist, and there is already a basic "server.cfg" and "DED-SERVER" batch file to run one with.  We'll let you tinker with it!
