Get WinRAR: http://www.rarsoft.com RAR files
compress much better than ZIP files do. Save memory = save download time. Also
WinRAR has a feature for multiple volumes, and self-extracting files. For
more info on why WinRAR is better than WinZip, go here.
Instructions:
Extract files to Quake2\\players\sydney
Normally the is baseq2. However, if you're playing Action Quake2, unzip all these files to your quake2/action/players/sydney directory. If you want to use these skins for Quake2 and other mods, then unzip to quake2/baseq2/players/sydney (this will also work with AQ2, but you won't be able to see the skin in the player selection screen). But if you do this, make sure you get rid of all other sydney files in your action/players/sydney folder which may take higher priority when playing (which will prevent you from seeing new sydney model and some skins). If you play Action Quake2, but are in doubt and do not understand what I am saying, then just extract it to your action/players/sydney folder as well, overwriting old files.
If you need standard VWep, AQ2 VWep, or soundpacks for the Sydney model, download them from NotriX Skins.

Important:
These skins are free to use by anyone in any game. I made this skin with the intent on
using it for Terror Quake and Action Quake2 but it can be used wherever the model
is used. If you want to use the head (or parts of the head), please include my email
which is embedded on the skin at the top of the head. If you wish to distribute
these skins or part of this pack, then include this info file along with all the images.
DISCLAIMER:
Use these skins as-is. Do NOT make any modifications to these skins nor use
these skins for part of any type of commercially sold software (unless you notify
me). This is FREE.
History:
The original model and skins were made by Brian
'EvilBastard' Collins. Then Mike
Williams created swimsuit and lingerie skins. I took Mike Williams' redcorset skin and
gave it a more lingerie look. I also changed her hair color (from blue to red) and
added details to her hands, and feet. I added sandals because her bare feet seemed
too big and blocky.
There were 2 versions of Sydney. In the original version (1st-Sydney), she uses two pistols so there's no VWep. This model later became a part of Action Quake2. Then a new Sydney model with Action Quake2 VWep came out (I'll call this the 2nd-Sydney). The Amber model (also made by EvilBastard) is like the 1st-Sydney except it has animations for VWep and the skin mapping is made for 256x256 pixels (however, the Amber model is quite unpopular; it seems that no one knows about it). Also, the Amber model doesn't have bangs (as in hairstyle) like in the 1st-Sydney. Because of the size-demension change in skins and slight skinmapping changes, if you put Sydney skins into Amber's directory, then you will notice some major skin mapping errors (most noticably in the hair and ponytail). However, you can take Amber's standard VWep and put them into the 2nd-Sydney's directory since the 2nd-Sydney model is a modified Amber model.
The 2nd-sydney had horrible skinmapping. It is basically EvilBastard's Amber model with skinmapping to fit Sydney skins. The 2nd-Sydney differs from the Amber model only in the skin mapping--it's supposed to be made to work with the 1st-Sydney skins (308x193 pixels). The 1st-Sydney (with 2 pistols made by EvilBastard) had correct skinmapping, but a few errors. I re-skinmapped the 2nd-Sydney model so it is like the 1st-Sydney skinmap, but I fixed all (or almost all) the errors. The new skinmap has been optimized for minimal errors, compatibility with old sydney skins, and great detail.
Therefore in the end, you can say that the new Sydney (3rd-Sydney) is just like the 1st-Sydney except with VWep support, no Lara Croft-like pistols, and no bangs OR you can say the the 3rd-Sydney is just the Amber model with different skinmapping.
Differences between the three Sydneys:
The most noticiable difference lies in the hair. Other skinmapping mistakes include the side of the body including the arms and legs (blotches of the skin's background could be seen on the model). Also there used to be a grey line on the top of the head. This was due to open GL and 3DFx Glide's skinmapping differences. The original heads had a grey background in the skin. I used a dark brown for the background around the head to make the greyline a dark brown line.

Other notes:
The base skin used for the armypants was larac.pcx (author is unknown; tell me if you know). A lot of time (I estimate 50 hours) was put into the hair of armypants2.pcx. About 40 hours was put into the pants and skin touchups. Add the time for skin mapping and testing (with Skinview), the total time is about 100 hours.....And that's only for the 2 armypants skins. I previously made the lingerie and swimsuit skins in Sept. 1998. I spent about 20 hours touching up the skins and adding the realistic hair.
The base skin used for the ling*.pcx skins was redcorset.pcx by Mike Williams.
Added 5-30-99: The akimbo pistols (for AQ2 VWep) and the BFG have been fixed so there is no "null skin" error. All the weapons now display the proper skin.
Changed 6-09-99: Linked the BFG skin to the pak0.pak to save a little bit texture memory. I would have done this for the akimbo pistols for AQ2, but the dimensions are incorrect in the pak. Suislide made an akimbo fix using a different (plain ugly grey) skin. But i prefer the mk23 skin rather than the plain grey skin.
Changed 9-06-99: Linked akimbo pistols for AQ2 to the v_blast skin in the AQ2 pak. It has the correct dimensions and is the black gun skin. So now it saves from using the extra 43 KB texture memory and looks better than Suislide's linked akimbo skin.
