---------------------------------- Title : HellFire Missles Filename : HellFire.Zip Version : v1.0 Date : 9/21/98 Author : Joshua Jackson Email : jjackson@neo.lrun.com Type of Mod ----------- Deathmatch : Yes Teamplay : No Weapons : Yes MD2 : No ---------------- gamex86.dll : Yes gamei386.so : Yes Construction ---------------- Base : Quake2 Source Build Time : An evening Editor(s) used : MS VC++ 6.0, Quake2 source code Known Bugs : None Compiled with : MS VC++ 6.0, gcc under Linux 2.0 Description of the Modification ------------------------------- By hitting the "7" button, you can toggle between standard and HellFire missles. The HellFire missle is pretty much a gauranteed frag. When fired, it will attempt to acquire a target to chase. Once acquired, the target is pretty much dead meat... the rocket will increase its speed by 3 fold and will alter its course to persue the target. If a target can not be acquired or the current target does manage to slip out of site, the rocket will embed itself in a wall/floor/ceiling and wait for the next happless victim to stroll by. During flight, the rocket will only scan the area in front of it... once it has gone idle, it doesn't care what direction a potential target is coming from. Course corrections will be made at a rate of 10 per second with the ability to do a full 180 in mid flight. How to Install the Modification ------------------------------- In Windows, make a directory called HellFire under your Quake 2 Sub-Dir, place the .dll file their. In Linux do the same, but copy the .so file. To start a server with the mod use: quake2 +set dedicated 1 +set game HellFire Additional Notes from the Author -------------------------------- This is my first attempt at a mod... this thing is actually more like a cheat (It can be used in single player mode and will acquire monsters.) If you are interested in the source, email me and I will gladly send it to you. It is not included in this package because I am making many other additions to it and will release it upon completion. Copyright and Distribution Permissions -------------------------------------- I could care less what you do with this thing... have fun.
