If you don't know where to start in making Quake II mods, visit this place. -The Slackers! =============================== Description of Killer Weapons =============================== **This mod is completely serverside compatible, meaning that you may run it on a server and the client doesn't need the mod** This mod changes most of the weapons and adds some new features. The new weapons and features: --------- Weapons --------- Super Blaster- Press 1 again with the blaster and you get to use the super blaster. This weapon shoots exploding lasers and uses 5 cells per laser Triple Grenades- This used to be cluster grenades, but I changed it to a triple grenade launcher because it didn't work right on an enemy. It may be added in future versions. Homing rockets- Press q to turn homing rockets on, press r to turn homing rockets off. These use 1 rocket and an additional 5 cells and chases down the enemy. Triple Hyperblaster- this one is really powerful and eats up ammo very fast. It shoots 3 lasers at once instead of 1. Lasers also bounce off walls. Burst Railgun- This shoots 3 weakened railgun shots at once. Detonatable Throwing Grenades- Use throwing grenades and set them off by pressing d (similar to duke nukem's pipebombs) ---------- Features ---------- The blaster- now shoots much faster but is weaker, and the lasers bounce off walls. Jetpack- press the "home" key to use the jetpack. It propells you upward letting you shoot enemies airborne. Lasersight- press the "L" key to activate the laser sight. Lasers now bounce off walls. The shotguns have huge kickbacks now. Try crouching and aiming up at the enemy when they are right in front of you. They go up, up, up! ======================== Installation - Important ======================== Make a directory in your Quake2 Directory, Say c:\quake2\weapons Unzip my mod using winzip -or- pkunzip -d sblast1.zip Put all the files extracted into c:\quake2\weapons *important* You must have autoexec.cfg in the directory of my mod. Now, just type quake2 +set game weapons Fire up single player, and go at it. There, that wasn't hard, was it? You must have Quake2 version 3.10, you can use it with 3.05 or any other previous version of Q2 as long as you edit game.h [in the included source] and changing #define game_api_version 2 to #define game_api_version 1, and compile it. ======== Mod info ======== New DLL: Yep [serverside compatible dll] New Sound: Nope New Model: Nope Source included: Yes, I think it's greedy to not release source no matter how big or insignificant of a mod you make. =========== Mod History =========== Version 2 (current): -Changed the super blaster trail effects so it looks like a blaster and not a grenade. -Changed the Cluster Bombs to a Triple Grenade launcher -Balanced Railgun more. -Added bigger shotgun and super shotgun knockbacks for enemies (makes them bounce around real far when shot with either shotgun, especially the super shotgun) Version 1: Official Release. ====== misc. ====== Yes it's true I canceled my TC, Sabotage. I canceled it because of Quake II being so close to releasing and not enough help. I also had a hard drive crash and lost all work. Oops.
