Discription | : Sewerside is a short but relatively hard singleplayer map completely
located in the underground sewersystem of some city no-one cares about. The point is that alienscum have been hiding in the
dark stinking tunnels and it's up to Duke to tackle this smelly problem.
Gameplay enhancements; The map comes with additional con-scripts to add some variety to the standard gameplay of Duke3D. They are merged with sd_duke thus making the High Resolution Pack v3.0 required. The con-code has the following effect; 1) When picking up a second pistol you can wield two at the same time. Press "2" to switch from one to two pistols. Keep in mind that one pistol is very accurate, while two pistols is far less accurate. Best thing is to only use dual pistols in close to medium range. You can assign another key for switching from one to two pistols in the keyboard menu. 2) Don't ignore health-items when your health is full. Pick them up and they'll be added to your medkit. If you don't have one you will receive one in such situation. The maximum amount of health you can carry in the medkit is 150. Installation instructions; 1) After downloading the zip-file unpack it. It will create a new directory called "Sewerside" containing the files. 2) From your EDuke32 directory copy the next following files over to the "Sewerside" directory; - eduke32.exe - duke3d.cfg - duke3d.grp - autoload/duke3d.grp (the entire folder) Make sure you don't copy anything related to the sd_duke mod that comes with HRP v3.0. 3) To play Sewerside launch the file "Sewerside.bat". It will directly launch the map. Tips and tricks; 1) The map is quite hard and you're adviced to keep an eye out at all times. There's a fair amount of health and ammo present but not in normal eyesight. Look around and you'll find them. For example, you can get a second pistol when you exit the first room, it's lying on a crate to your right. 2) There's nothing to keep you from falling into the green goo in the sewers. If you would happen to fall into it there's a way out. Right at the startpoint is a teleporter that brings you back at the start of the map. 3) You're not suppose to fight the Battle Lords in the map, only evade them. They will not leave their sector thus they will not come after you. Warning ! You can not play this map with the original Duke Nukem 3D Atomic Edition anymore. To download the EDuke32 OpenGL-port of Duke3D go to EDuke32.com. In addition, the High Resolution Pack v3.0 is also required. Visit the official website of the HRP to download this. It comes with EDuke32 by default so you only need to download this. After downloading this, install it as new then follow the installation instructions as mentioned above. |
