Lesson 2:
|
Colour heightmap usage |
I want to
set different textures for the surface i make in 1st lesson with grid
size = 4 and {X;Y}
= {128;128}:
What do I need for this?
At first
i choose textures for colours in ADVANCED SETUP:
(Don't forget to check "Textures by colour" checkbox as I forget above :)
Then run
Adobe photoshop and load my heightmap
there:
and select
lower (darker) areas with <magic wand> tool.
When it's done I select <Hue/Saturation> dialog and make selected
areas red as shown:
Then with <magic wand> I selet higher areas and make its green
And at last blue areas I define for third texture.
I also may leave some grey areas for default texture.
Let's look at result heightmap loaded in TERRAIN GENERATOR:
At last let's press "Done" and look at result surface:
Note 1:
I use here better terrain quality to get better result (grid
size = 1) and make square sizes less
to keep terrain the same size ({X;Y}
= {32;32})
Note 2: Tere are 2 different results above because of use of different COLOUR
METHODS : "greyscale" or "bright".
